n the just-released trailer for "The Vampire Diaries," Katherine (Nina Dobrev) is doing what she does best: manipulating, menacing, and making out.

As always, the Salvatore brothers are her prime targets. She swears that she came back to Mystic Falls for Stefan, but then we see her and Damon take it to the floor. "Kiss me or kill me," she demands -- and he opts for the kissing. After 150 years of pining, can you really blame him?

Damon and Stefan have come a long way since the beginning of the series. They're now allies, if somewhat reluctantly, and Stefan's fear is that Katherine will come between them once again, turning Damon back to his old ways.

I was on set in Atlanta with Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder while they shot some emotional scenes between the brothers - including the scene you see in the trailer below, where Damon fills Stefan in on that fateful kiss.

On a break from filming, Paul sat down to talk to me about Stefan's head space when he finds out that Damon kissed Elena - or at least, the girl he thought was Elena.

"Oh, the kiss. Stefan's first reaction is, 'I'm going to kill you. Like I am going to literally kill you, rip you apart. This is my beautiful girl. This is the love of my life. Stay the hell away,'" Wesley says.

Ooh, feisty.

Now that Stefan's off the human blood, he's gone back to being the rational brother, and he hesitates before the whole fratricide thing becomes an issue. "The thing is," Wesley explains, "Damon and Stefan have done this dance before. All Stefan is thinking is 'I'm not going to let you do this to me.' Eventually, his second reaction is to realize that his anger has never gotten him anywhere with Damon. Fighting fire with fire is just going to get you fire."

Carrying on the pretense of being Elena was just another way for Katherine to toy with the Salvatores -- her favorite pastime. This time, though, Stefan is going to do his best to keep her from coming between them.

"He's furious with Damon for acting on his feelings for Elena, but more than that, he's afraid that with everything that's going on, Damon is going to shut down again. He's going to lose all the humanity that Stefan and Elena have cultivated in him. Stefan can't let that happen. At the end of the day, he absolutely loves his brother, and that's a significant element of the story. In my opinion, it's the most significant element of the story."

Wesley pauses and grins. "He's still really freakin' pissed, though."

Countdown to The Return is a series of guest posts by Vampire Diaries fans on topics they’re pondering as we head into Season 2. First up, author Dianne Sylvan examines why the relationship between Stefan and Damon is so compelling and why she hopes the tension will continue throughout the new season.

Vampire romances these days are less than a dime a dozen – they’re becoming almost a parody of themselves. Take one misunderstood teen girl, one immortal hottie, add a quirky best friend. Add clueless adults, a heaping helping of angst, some kind of bad guy to cause the couple problems (preferably bad vampires or, better yet, werewolves), and stir.

What, then, sets The Vampire Diaries apart from the rest? Why does it have us all salivating over the upcoming season…even jaded old ladies like myself, who cheerfully admits she avoids most vampire fiction like the plague (even though I write it myself)?

I think we all know the answer to that one…and no, it’s not Damon…or, not just Damon. As much as we all love a bad boy like Damon (Okay, “bad boy” doesn’t quite cover it, given that he’s a murdering sociopath), or a redeemed (sort of) bad boy like Stefan (who, let’s not forget, has killed at least one person that we know of, and probably more before he had whatever Great Revelation that made him give up the people-juice), both character types are hardly unique these days.

Yes, I’m dying to see the havoc Katherine wreaks on Mystic Falls…in fact I’m hoping she’ll blow the place apart and get away scot free, just to shake up the idea that the powerful female character always has to get it in the end. (Please note Exhibits A-E: Lexi, Bree, Grams, Pearl, Anna.) Yes, I’m looking forward to learning more about Tyler’s…um, animal control issues. And yes, I’m eager to see the development of Damon as an individual, and worried, I admit, that he might get a little too human, too soon. But what I’m really looking forward to is that very thing that makes TVD so fascinating: the relationship between the brothers Salvatore.

In this show you don’t have to settle for either the scary badass vampire or the angsty brooding vampire. We get both, and both are actually interesting, multilayered characters. There’s so much unexplored territory for both boys at this point: what happened to make Stefan stop eating people? And is this really the first time in 150 years that Damon has been visited by the ghost of his own humanity? What have the two of them been doing for the last century and a half?

The dynamic between the two is a perfect example of blood flowing thicker than water. Dysfunctional as it may be, it’s obvious to anyone who sees the two interact throughout the first season that in spite of everything that they’ve done to each other, they both genuinely love each other. Family bonds are some of the most complicated and full of baggage, no matter what species you are.

Surely, if they didn’t care about each other, either one could have killed the other a dozen times by now. Stefan might not be as strong as his brother, but he’s had plenty of time to plan. There are all sorts of ways to kill someone that don’t rely on brute strength or speed, just timing and opportunity. At the very least he could have put a hit out on Damon with some enterprising vampire hunter…but he didn’t.

Each alone, the brothers are only half of a story. I’ve always found the Louis-type of vampire pretty boring: staring at his navel, pining for his mortality, reluctantly falling for the girl whilst trying to warn her away from his Obviously Awful Evil OMG. We don’t get nearly enough Lestat-types these days: vampires who freaking love being vampires. Usually the latter are portrayed as the blood-drenched heartless adversaries and the former are the only viable vamp love interests, but on TVD we have a reversal, or at least a wiggle, of the norm.

Stefan is tormented, yes, but we know there was a time when he drank the world by the gallon and apparently ran around naked in fountains, which I for one would pay to see. It’s evident that there’s far more to him than just forehead brooding…probably entire decades of behavior no better than his brother’s, which only makes it more believable when Stefan says he wants to see Damon change, to see him come back from a dangerous edge that Stefan himself has dwelt on.

And while it would be easy to portray Damon as a soulless killer, both the writers and Ian Somerhalder have brought him a surprising depth; the eyebrows alone speak volumes. The amount of impassioned debate (which is putting it mildly) on various forums over whether or not he should be involved with Elena or anybody else on the show indicates just how well the character has been crafted.

(Just to get my two cents in on the subject, it is my personal opinion that Damon should leave the human girls to his brother and go find himself a full-grown female vampire.)

Even with that individual depth, however, the two Salvatores still need each other to be fully formed characters. Together, the brothers serve as each other’s mirror. Stefan shows Damon his humanity, and Damon brings out Stefan’s inner beast. One could argue that this isn’t such a great deal for Stefan, but in my opinion, he could use a little more beast in him – not as a rampaging killer, but at least as someone who knows how to accept what he is and enjoy his life. That urge to let go is no doubt part of what frightens Stefan about his brother, the thought that if he were to stop hating himself, he might become a monster again.

On its own, Stefan and Elena’s relationship just isn’t that compelling; it’s the outside forces acting on it that bend and strain it and shape it into something that captivates, and the most important opposing force is Damon himself. His mere presence throws everything in motion, starting from the series pilot. I remember watching that episode and thinking that the first half of it was a little dull and predictable…until that window blew open, and the show’s entire energy changed on the beat of a crow’s wings. At that moment, the show breathed…and I don’t think any of us caught our breath again for the next 21 episodes. If I had to describe the entire first season with one word, that word would be GASP.

On the other hand, without Stefan, Damon would just be a villain, with nothing to humanize him. While his adventures in death and debauchery around the globe might be fun to watch for a while, having Stefan to kick around grounds him, makes him seem like a real person instead of a caricature. Elena is a big part of what starts to work on Damon, true, but if Stefan hadn’t been present to stand between them, Damon would likely have swept in and used her as cruelly as he did Caroline, before allowing himself to know her as a person and not a toy or snack. Interacting with Stefan forced Damon to slow down and interact with Elena, which made him see her as more than a Katherine-doll he could play with.

Where will all of this go in the upcoming season? From what we’ve seen so far, it won’t be any less emotionally fraught than the first. One way or another despite Damon’s attraction to Elena, and Stefan’s poisonous jealousy, the boys will have to cooperate to protect the town from Katherine, because despite Bonnie’s assertions that she’s the BWIC (Badass Witch in Charge), I doubt that she can take Katherine down on her own. Somehow, Stefan and Damon are going to have to work together, because whatever Katherine ultimately wants in Mystic Falls, it can’t be good for Elena or anyone else with a pulse.

Personally, I don’t want to see the two brothers completely bury the hatchet, at least not any time soon. Unless one or both does a complete character reversal and becomes essentially unrecognizable as himself, they will always exist in opposition – not black and white, but more like two shades of grey that slide and shift around each other but never quite match. They may orbit each other, each taking on the other’s traits for a while, but deep down, that tension will always be there, planting suspicion and doubt, making every word spoken between them both a threat and a promise.

It would be a great disservice to the show if they were to just be friends without any lingering animosity. The things that make each brother who he is will always ensure that they best they can hope for is a fragile détente, and if that state of magnetic attraction/repulsion were to disappear, it would mean that each had lost the spark that makes him more than just another sexy vampire in a black leather jacket.

Not, of course, that we don’t love our sexy vampires. In fact if you were to sum up my hopes for the coming season, they would be: even more gasping…and even fewer shirts.

In the latest Vampire Diaries trailer, Elena tries to shake her brother awake, following his first season finale overdose.

Well, spoiler alert, fans: Jeremy Gilbert lives! We know this because Steven R. McQueen spoke with TV Fanatic this week and previewed his character's upcoming arc on the series. Excerpts from the interview are below...

What can you tell us about Jeremy this season?
Obviously I can’t give away everything, when it comes to if he turns into a vampire or not. I can say this: Jeremy has been pushed around quite a bit. He’s lost his parents, lost his first love, and all of the sudden there’s this new girl that he relates to because she’s an outsider as well, so they connect on that level. When he loses her, she’s the last person, and he lets himself go emotionally. He’s a little cold to the world now. Instead of being pushed around and wearing his heart on his sleeve; he’s about to push back a little bit.

Do you think Jeremy initiated the change for all of the wrong reasons?
He doesn’t have any humanity anymore. He doesn’t trust his sister because she betrayed him, he doesn’t really trust anybody and everyone views him as a kind of monster, so I think his mindset is “everyone already sees me as a monster, why not become one?”

Obviously, Jeremy wakes up, changed or not changed. Can you tell me how life goes when he does wake up?
Jeremy is a little more calculated. He always had his heart on his sleeve, and he doesn’t [use] emotion anymore. He thinks logically of how he can control the situation.

Will Jeremy and Elena be able to repair their relationship?
They actually get into a fist fight in the first episode [laughs].

Will Jeremy and Katherine have a run-in?
Yes.

I think the whole Vampire Diaries fan base was in uproar when Anna died.
[Malese Jow is] a very talented actress, and she’s a great girl. It was a bummer to lose her. The writers want people go through an emotional roller coaster. We had an intense connection, and things were finally feeling alright for Jeremy.

Are there any new girls in Jeremy’s future?
I don’t think, emotionally, he’s going to let himself open up to any situation like that. Physically, I’m sure he’ll indulge a little bit.

Last season, Jeremy went from brooding to care-free (when Damon erased his memory) and then back again. What was it like to play these opposing emotions?
Jeremy is just an interesting character because he’s never in the same mental state. He’s always changing. The only thing about when he made that switch is he went from being aware. He was totally out of loop when he was all happy.

If you had the chance, would you choose to be immortal?
Oh yeah. I think, anytime we can break away from society, and break the rules, I would definitely try to indulge in that.

Are you drawn to darker characters?
Being an actor is being make believe. Any time there’s more to play with, the more fun it is for me. I like characters with emotional issues, and I enjoy playing the outsider. Everyone wants me to play the boy next door, but I try to break away from that.

We spoke to Jessica Szohr about Piranha 3D, and you star in that movie, as well. What is your character like?
I’m a complete nerd. I’m not getting into any trouble, I’m very straight edge. I’m in love with Jessica Szohr’s character and she’s older than me and has a boyfriend. I have no chance in the world. We get into this Girls Gone Wild situation where I try to protect her, and then the fish start attacking. Honestly, it’s such a fun movie. I saw a little bit of it, and it’s hilarious and scary at the same time. It’s like Snakes on a Plane, but with fish. It’s much darker and gruesome than The Vampire Diaries.

SNMag: What initially drew you to the show and the character of Elena?
Nina Dobrev: Well, I remember reading it and just being drawn to the fact that she was this average girl who was damaged in many ways and then I did some research and found out that I would probably end up having to play Katherine too, who is the complete opposite. This is one of the rarest, coolest opportunities in television, to play two people on the same medium.

SNMag: What can you tell us about Katherine coming back at the end of the finale last season?
ND: The only thing I can really tell you is that she’s back, and if I told you any more I’d have to kill you or bite you or something. But, yeah, she is back and you can just imagine now that she’s back in action things are just going to get more and more intense. It’s fun to see what she is going to do because she is just so spontaneous and crazy, but I’m just as in the dark as you are because they don’t tell us anything until we get there.

SNMag: Who do you have more fun playing – Elena or Katherine?
ND: I think like anything in life, whatever you’re deprived from or you don’t get to do as often, you end up enjoying more than anything else because it’s like a guilty pleasure. So, whenever I play Katherine, because I do it seldom, I have the most fun playing her.
SNMag: Do you think Damon and Elena could ever have a good, healthy relationship?
ND: “Damon” and “healthy” in the same sentence? That’s funny! I don’t know, I mean, with the way the season ended, it doesn’t seem as though Damon and Elena are an item in any way because he didn’t really care for her. He chose Katherine. Little does he know he is totally falling in love with Elena but Elena truly doesn’t feel that way. She sees him as a buddy. She sees him as her boyfriend’s brother, and, at times, a pain in the butt. But their friendship and their chemistry are definitely growing.

SNMag: If it were up to you, which brother would you choose?
ND: Well, I would choose the other brother, definitely – or maybe a mixture of the two. I think both characters have different qualities that are very appealing so it just depends. If you combine them, they make the perfect man because Stefan is committed and sweet and protective and loving, and Damon is spontaneous and crazy and fun and exciting. Every woman has to find that guy who pushes all her buttons, and Damon and Stefan push different buttons for Elena.
SNMag: What’s it like shooting in Atlanta?
ND: I like it, I really like it. It took a second to get used to in the beginning because, like any city, you have to give it a shot and explore and find out the little quirks about the town. But once we did, I found so many great restaurants and such amazing food and really great, nice, fun people and it’s so different from New York and LA and the big cities. We get an opportunity to be real, average people and hang out and go to restaurants and watch movies and not take ourselves too seriously.

SNMag: Do you guys all hang out off set?
ND: You’d think we’d get sick of each other by now, but we don’t somehow! Everyone is so sweet and supportive and loving and caring for each other. We can’t wait to get back to Atlanta and start filming again.

SNMag: Do you ever get to go back to Canada to visit your family?
ND: Actually, I just went back home to Toronto and hung out with my mom and my brother. I don’t get to go as often as I’d like to because of my work schedule but when I do it makes the time with them so much cooler. I’m really close with my mom so I miss her a lot and she travels a lot. She comes to visit me in Atlanta so I get to see her often that way.

SNMag: Since the show has become more popular, have you had any interesting fan encounters?
ND: Yeah, I’ve had tons of interesting fan encounters! This one time, I was at yoga with my mom and this girl came up to me while I was basically half-naked in a dressing room and she was asking me about the show and asked for an autograph and a picture with me while I’m sitting there, like I said, half-naked!
SNMag: We’ve heard that you’re a very big coffee and chocolate connoisseur - any specific preferences?
ND: Well, if we’re going to talk about coffee we’re going to have to talk about Starbucks and Coffee Bean! I change it up a lot, I love chai lattes and caramel macchiatos and double chocolate chip frappucinos with whipped cream…the sweeter the better, basically! When I have chai, I have dirty chai lattes with chocolate espresso in it. It’s a good pick me up. When it comes to just chocolate, lava cake is my absolute favorite. Hot, molten lava cake!

SNMag: What’s your feeling on this whole vampire craze? Do you keep up with shows like True Blood or the Twilight series?
ND: We’re all aware and supportive of each other’s shows and I have a lot of friends in them. I just finished shooting a movie with Kellan [Lutz], actually, a couple days ago. Vampires are hot. They’re sexy and mysterious and dangerous.

SNMag: Can we expect any werewolves on the show next season? Could you give us any hints?
ND: I can’t tell you about that. Maybe, maybe not, but I’m not allowed to talk about it. Sorry!

SNMag: When you’re not filming, how do you spend your free time?
ND: To be honest, whenever I have free time I just sleep. I chill and keep everything low-key. I’m a very low-key person because the rest of my life is so fast-paced and exciting. I like to just relax.

SNMag: Are there any spots in Los Angeles that you especially enjoy when you’re here?
ND: I hang out in Santa Monica a lot. If I can, I love to be by the water. And I love 25 Degrees, they have the best burgers and so does 8 Oz.! I go shopping on Melrose. I go to the Melrose flea market on Sundays if I can.

SNMag: You mentioned the movie with Kellan Lutz, Death Games, what can you share about it?
ND: The reason it appealed to me was that I always wanted to do an action movie. Also, I wanted to play a character that was a little older. I play a young girl in her 20s who Kellan marries. I’m his wife! So that was pretty fun. I’m pregnant in it too, I get to have a baby belly.

SNMag: What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night when you’re not working?
ND: Two things: Either go out for an amazing steak dinner and just indulge in yummy food and then just watch a movie and hang out, or I’ll go out with the girls and go to a cool, dive bar. I like intimate settings where you can really talk and hang out with your friends and cool people.

Не е задължително да бъде най-забавния сезон за Деймън.Мисля че той ще бъде предизвикван доста.Не мисля, че е свикнал да бъде предизвикван.Има някой неща.Някои останки ще донесат повече хаус в Мистик Фолс, които може би са напревени от него през първи сезон и ще бъде проблем, така че тези предизвикателства са нещо, което ще бъде погледнато занапред като ''защото не е скучно''.

Ще продължим ли да виждаме човечността във Деймън или ще се върне към злото?
Мисля ,че когато установи ,че това не беше Елена ще е малко ядосан.

Той ще иска ли все още да бъде с Катрин след като я е намерил?Той все още ще иска Катрин като идиот.Странно е, знаете.Любовта е наистина ослепителна сила.Силата ни кара да правим неща, глупави неща, които всички ние всеки един от нас го е преживял.

Чувствата на Деймън към Катрин ще се пренасочат ли към Елена?
Не знам.Всъщност за да бъда честен с вас,не знам.Това ,което искам да виждам за него е ,че осъзнава /че Катрин/ е луда ,манипулативна кучка и наистина ,когато той идва със своите черти,научени от нея и той е в състояние да търси вътре в себе си и си казва "Тези не са много високо качествени черти на човека".

В клипа, в който видяхме, СПОЙЛЕР:Катрин казва, че иска Стефан.Това ще нарани ли чуствата на Деймън?Това е друго нещо, което ще го съкруши.

Как това ще повлияе на Деймън и Стефан?Това е нещо.Интересна мисъл,която може в действителност ,този съюз,трябва да станат по-силни ,защото тя сеопитва да отмъсти и опустуши и двамата,независимо дали Катрин иска Стефан или Деймън,Стефан не иска да има нищо общо с нея, през по-голямата част. Мислиш ли че Елена ще върне човечността на Деймън?Мисля че това ще е единственото време, което някога сте виждали и то ще е когато е с нея.Всмисъл Нина Добрев ще направи това за теб.Няма втори начин относно това.

С кой от двамата братя Салваторе би искала да е Елена през втория сезон?-Дефан.Техният новооткрит брат,който е чудесен микс между двамата.

Ще целуваш ли Иън отново през втори сезон?Ще целувам поне единия от братята Салватор този сезон.

Какво става ,като Катрин се върне?-Миналия сезон ми се налагаше по-малко.Предимно играех Елена и опитахме от Катрин доста малко ,но тази година ще има доста повече Катрин.Тя е тук и иска да опустоши всичко,няма нищо добро в нея.Ще е забавно да си в обувките на Деймън за малко и да си играеш с тях и умовете им

Как правиш разлика между Катрин и Елена, според вида им?Между стилистът и творците, всички видове си сътрудничат.Но аз съм много пряма за начина, по който искам Елена и Катрин да изглеждат и фактът, че искам да изглеждат различни.И едно от основните неща например Елена е с разкроени дънки, а Катрин е с прилепнали дънки и с токове тип момиче.Има малко хитри неща, които създават различната визия.Т етрябва да изглеждат различни колкото изглеждат едни и същи.

Как Стефан ще се справи със тази целувка?-За мен ,аз съм съкрушен от целувката между Деймън и Елена.Макар ,че той е социопат ,злонамерен и даже убиец , той знае ,че го обичам.Това е най-лошата обида.В този момент Стефан не е много заинтерсован толкова много или го е грижа.Той е по-скоро,знаеш ли какво не мога да се справя с това момче.

Той ще промени ли чуствата си към Елена?
Елена, Елена, Елена.Той я обича.Това е нещо като трансформация.Той се примирява със себе си.Втори сезон е много повече приемане.Това е което съм аз.Ще започне да прави други неща.Да се смее, да бъде весел.

Сега Катрин заявява ,че се е върнала заради Стефан ,той заинтерсован ли е?-Това е микс,помислете си ,той е бил влюбен в Катрин един момент,тя е човекът ,който е отговорен за неговото безсмъртие.Това е тежко.Той я среща с отвръжение ,но и с малко интерес-

Какво искаш за Стефан?Аз не обичам непременно тъмната страна.Обичам и това, но аз като Стефан имам и други тактики, други от жертвите и приемането на тежести.И ще бъде по-активен.

Какво да очакваме този сезон?-Ами знаете Катрин се върна във Мистик Фолс,това е една игра за шоуто.Трябва да разберем как това ще повлия на двамата братя ,когато тя отново е в града и незнам.Трудно е да говоря така без да издам още нещо,всичко изглежда като изненада.Тя се върна и както видяхте в клипа ,тя е готова с обясненията ,защо се е върнала и ще е доста интересно да гледаме ,човека който играе,но ако сте гледали миналите ни епизоди ще знаете някои отмотивите на героите.Това е голяма промяна.Тя каза ,че иска Стефан.Тя е дошла за него.

Различна ли е Катрин сега от 1864?Тя е нещо средно.Ще бъде интересно да се гледа.Тя е различна, в смисъл, че тя не трябва да носи корсети вече и тя е различна.Е, изплашен съм да го кажа, защото ще е дразнещо къде е била..Това е една доста голяма тайна това, което тя е била до..

Ще видим ли проблясъци на някои герои ,които умряха в миналия сезон-Да

Ще видим ли Изабел пак?Не веднага.Аз нямам никакви планове първо, знаете сега нахвърляме целия сезон.Но ние лично не сме оправили 9 епизода, така мразя да казвам "не" и след това да се обърнеш и да го направя и да стана един лъжец.Аз няма да кажа в първите 12.

Колко връщащи епизода назад ще има?-Планирани са три,но мисля ,че ще са четири.

Какво можете да ни кажете за пътуването на Тайлър тази година?Тайлър се учи чрез помощта на своя чичо Мейсън, който идва в града в първия епизод.Кой и какво е той?Той ще се запознае с проклятието, Кой е той и как се отговаря на това.Ще бъде типична съзряваща се история, нещо като идването на възраст ''приказка'', но това е ужасно, че всички тези въпроси, защото ти си така и защо си толкова ядосан и защо винаги се чувстваш толкова загубен и след това.Така че ще е забавно пътуване за него ... и насилие.

Miss1444:Ами няколко мои приятелки гледаха серияла и ми го препоръчаха ( а аз чесно казано съм голяма запалянка по сериялите) започнах да го гледам и го свърших за 2-3 дни както се казва на един дъх :D. След това започнахме да четем книгите и ... така се запалихме по серияла.

Miss1444: Най-весел момент ... ами аз лично немога да си избера толкова много съм се смяла с тях .Най-тъженият момент за мен беше когато на края на серияла когато Дейман целуна Елена ... ;( а се оказа че това е Катрин , а за най неочакван момент може би е когато Бони се опита да убие Деймън в пожара на празника на града.

During Comic-Con weekend in San Diego, I was treated to an exclusive sit-down interview with Vampire Diaries executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec to discuss some of the Season 2 secrets they're plotting.
TV Guide Magazine: Your first season included so many great theme episodes — like the bloody Halloween party and the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. Can we expect more of these events?Williamson: The CW is very event-oriented, but I was initially very resistant of it. Last season was all built around Founder's Day. And this year we're considering three events as our big lead-up to the season finale.
Plec: We do have a carnival in our second episode, and in the third episode, Elena and Damon and Alaric travel together to Duke University, where Isobel, Alaric's wife and Elena's birth mother, met and lived together. She studied the paranormal and was an expert in the anthropology department which is how she disguised her vampire research. She had become obsessed with Mystic Falls and dug deep into the history of the town. So on their trip, they dig into her dusty files to see what she may have known that they don't know.
TV Guide Magazine: What about another Halloween episode?Williamson: We're not looking at the show as if a whole year has passed, but we will have an episode timed to Halloween, which will be a huge masquerade ball that we're now thinking of as a possible two-parter. S--t will hit the fan.
TV Guide Magazine: There will be one big murder?Plec: Yes. At least.
Williamson: It's getting harder and harder to look at our wall of death where we have photos of people like Anna (Malese Jow) and Bonnie's grandmother (Jasmine Guy).
Plec: And Lexi (Arielle Kebbel)...
TV Guide Magazine: I was quite upset about Bonnie losing her Gran. Will we meet Bonnie's parents?Plec: People ask, 'Why doesn't Bonnie have parents?' Well, Bonnie does have parents. She lives with her father, who we have not met on camera, but she does not have a relationship with her mother. These are characters we may possibly explore this year. Bonnie comes from a long line of Bennett witches and mom is out there somewhere...
Williamson: True Blood actually did with LaFayette's mother (revealing her in a mental institution) what we wanted to do with Bonnie's mother, even though we came up with that idea a year ago.
Plec: That happens all the time.
Williamson: Sometimes we'll write dialogue and Nina Dobrev (Elena) will say, 'You do realize that's exactly what was said in Twilight, right?' And I'll tell her, 'No, I had no idea.' Vampire stories have been told for centuries so stories are going to overlap. I just don't want to do it in the same way or too close to when the others do it.
TV Guide Magazine: Speaking of which, both Twilight and True Blood have plunged heavily into werewolf territory, which you are about to do in your new season.Plec: We actually talked about this a lot, because we didn't want to be the third to bring something to the table. But it's in the Vampire Diaries books and the character of Tyler Lockwood could not and should not exist without this werewolf arc. We started laying the groundwork for this story all last season, so to negate that genre element would have been to negate the entire Tyler character.
Williamson: Every vampire story has a werewolf nearby. It's just the way it is.
TV Guide Magazine: What will your werewolves look like?Williamson: Wolves, and we'll show them transform. But not right away. And I think on True Blood their werewolves transform at will, whereas Tyler is bound by the full moon. Once a month he can't control it.
TV Guide Magazine: And now it's looking as though True Blood is about to introduce werepanthers.Williamson: Really? Well we'll introduce were-armadillos!
TV Guide Magazine: One thing Elena hasn't considered yet is her potentially having to sacrifice motherhood if she lives forever with a Salvatore vampire, because your vampires can't conceive, can they?Plec: No they cannot.
Williamson: One of the things we'll see Elena deal with this year are mortality issues. She's dating a guy who's never going to get old and she's never going to be able to have children.
TV Guide Magazine: There's lots of gayness going on over at True Blood. It surprises me that there's no suggestion of homosexuality on a Kevin Williamson show.Williamson: I'm happy to bring a gay character in when it fits the story. Caroline's father is gay. He has a boyfriend. We've already set him up as a Founding Family member.
Plec: And it's quite possible we'll be meeting Caroline's dad this year. This is going to be a big season for Caroline's relationship with her mom, the sheriff.
Sounds like some good stuff is planned. And it seems we can at least breath a sigh of relief that Caroline — last seen bleeding internally — will survive her emergency surgery. As for the other cliffhangers, we'll all have to stay tuned until the Sept. 9 season premiere to find out if Jeremy becomes a vampire, if Uncle John survives and if Elena exposes Katherine as her scheming impostor.

Л.Дж.Смит написа ,че е свършила със писането на The Return: Midnight и и е останал само процеса на редактиране.Която явно ще бъде публикувана следващата година.От друг източник подучухме ,че г-жа Смит е участвала в предисторията на трилогията "Дневниците на Стефан".Новата трилогия е в процес на работа и ще стартира с "Phantom".Все още не са казани никакви срокове и дати.
Авторката споделя "Свърших със Midnight -последната книга от трилогията наVampire Diaries преди месец и нямам търпение редактирането да приключи.Също започнах нова трилогия и почти завърших първата книга от нея.Вече купих фантастичен ,нов златен медальон и верига от
Tiffany and Co , помните онази сцена ,в която Стефан дава на Елена медальона,е тя ще е от решаващо значение във новата трилогия."

* Нина Добрева, три нейни колежки, статистка и операторите са... арестувани по време на снимките в Джорджия. Те реализират поредната сцена на магистрала, но се оказва, че спират движението на автомобилите без да имат разрешение за това. Пристигналите полицаи въобще не се трогнали и прибрали всички в ареста.

* Сюжетът на филма се оказва чудесна идея и за кампания на "Червения кръст". Тя се появява под надслов: "Гладуващи вампири! Дарете кръв" и насърчава децата в колежа да подпомогнат Деймън, Елена и Стефан, които са на рекламния плакат.

* По време на участието си в "Гимназия Деграси" Нина пътува до Кения, за да участва в благотворителната кампания Free The Children.

* Слуховете свързваха Пол Уесли и Нина Добрев в любовна връзка и в реалността преди той да обяви, че е сгоден за актрисата Тори де Вито, която гледахме за кратко в друг популярен сериал "One Tree Hill" (с доста вълнуващия бг превод "Самотно дърво на хълма").
